Not Your Average Jewelry Store
We were excited to learn all about Thundering Seas Jewelers and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with the Manager, Evan Clark.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Thundering Seas Jewelers stand apart from its competitors. Evan told us about how important transparency and trust are to them. He said:
“One of the things we do differently is that we try to be 100 percent honest and transparent with everybody. There’s a lot of worry and skepticism in our industry about trustworthiness, so just developing an honest relationship with customers is really our mission statement.”
One of the ways they have worked on building trust with their clients has been by doing all of their work in-house. Evan said:
“We do everything in-house. We don’t send anything out, and that is something that other stores don’t offer. They typically send repairs to the mainland, and that makes a lot of people uncomfortable — mailing grandma’s diamond to who knows where. And we’re the people who actually do the work, developing personal relationships with the customers and making sure they leave happy. That’s our objective.”
When we asked Evan about the Thundering Seas Jewelers business mission, he told us that they are not just about making a sale, but instead focus on making sure their customers get exactly what they want. He shared:
“It seems like, at a lot of other jewelry stores, their objective is to sell lines of credit, and all they care about is closing a deal. That’s not what we do. We’re about making sure they get specifically and exactly what they’re looking for, not just that they buy something.”
