Not Your Average Restaurant
John Lansdale, the owner of Crazy Cat Eat Up, took some time to speak with our team about his business’ incredible online reputation and overall success.
First things first, we wanted to know what John and his team do to separate themselves from other Mississippi restaurants. He told us, “We treat everybody like family. You don’t get lost in the shuffle, you come here and will see the same people every day…”
The Crazy Cat Eat Up team is wholeheartedly dedicated to serving their community. In John’s words, “We are here to serve the customers and, if we do that well, they’ll be happy and we stay in business. It’s a service industry and we are here to serve, if we don’t do it well, somebody else will. We worry about our little corner of the world and do what we can for it. We don’t do everything but what we do, we do better than most.”
Building Success Through Respect and Hard Work
As for a secret to success, John points to his team’s work ethic. “We work harder than anybody else. We work really hard,” he said.
The following is John’s advice to other businesses that are working on their online reputation:
“You have to be there every day and treat people respectfully, the customers and the employees. You have to be there every day.”
Of course, we couldn’t let John go without finding out the story behind the Crazy Cat Eat Up name. John told us, “We took a large catering job and didn’t have a name so had to come up with something quickly. My aunt had a cat that we joked was possessed by the devil, and that isn’t something you are supposed to say in the south, so it became ‘crazy cat.’”
