Not Your Average Restaurant
Umberto, the owner of Enoteca Umberto, generously gave us a few minutes of his time to tell us about this one-of-a-kind business and its award-winning online reputation.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that sets Enoteca Umberto apart from the many other restaurants in Rhode Island. Umberto told us that they showcase recipes from traditional Italian dining along with the old world of the Italians. His wife comes from an immigrant household, and she is a culinary wizard because of her skills in the kitchen and her culture. They import small batches of wine straight from Italy, and they go to Italy twice a year.
Umberto went on to tell us that his wife changes the menu every day and that everything is cooked fresh. They book couples months in advance, but they always recommend coming by, as they sometimes have cancelations.
We also wanted to know why they do what they do at Enoteca Umberto and how they work to make the world a better place. Umberto shared with us that their basic mission is simply to continuously grow and to show young people the importance of working.

When we asked Umberto about Enoteca Umberto’s secret to such a strong online reputation, he pointed to the fact that the restaurant started as a passion project.
