Owner, Ray Malnar, took some time to speak with us about his business’ online reputation and how he and his team earned it. Here’s what he had to say:
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
You need to make sure that you have positive feedback from customers. If the customers don’t give you positive feedback, there’s a problem. Follow up with your customer, but keep in mind that there are some people you can’t please.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
There are three things that set us apart the most. First, my employees treat the customer’s home very well. Second, our quality of work is the best. Finally, we get the work done in a timely manner.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
We try to make your floors look like new. We provide a service that saves our customers tons of money, and we educate our customers and follow up on regular basis.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We rely heavily on word of mouth. Our online marketing is a new part of the business that is only updated periodically. We update our online material every two years, with ads and such. I provide an incentive for my customers to give a referral.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Nothing is free in this world, either effort or money. I invest 10 percent of my gross back into marketing.
