We were excited to catch up with Combs Auto Repair and hear about how the last year has gone for them, so we sat down with the owner, Mark.
Mark started off by telling us a bit about their business and their team, as well as what makes them stand out compared to others in the industry. Mark told us about their honest business practices, saying:
“I firmly believe in keeping my promises to the customers, and in being honest and transparent. We shoot straight, there is plenty of business when you just fix what needs to be done.”
He also told us about their awesome team, who he said is filled with great, motivated people who enjoy working with people and who know how to be patient and listen to the customers.
When it comes to their accomplishments over the last year, we are thrilled to congratulate Combs Auto Repair on their 50th anniversary! Mark said:
“We made it to 50 years! Alice, my wife and the co-owner of Combs, and I have been in business for 50 years in Scottsdale, but we opened our first shop in 1952.”
Making It As A Small Business

We asked Mark what has been the most rewarding part of being a small business, like Combs Auto Repair. He said that they love being able to give back to the community by hiring youths and helping them find a successful direction in life.
Mark also told us about the biggest lessons they have learned so far as a business.
There are many businesses out there that are looking to build as impressive a reputation as Combs Auto Repair has managed to. We asked if Mark could share any expert advice with these companies. Here’s what he had to say:
“Be honest. If you’re going into business, you’d better have a year of backup income. Have a plan or the ability to survive for six to twelve months.”
Mark also wanted to make sure to give a special thanks to his manager, Eric, and to his wife, Alice. He said he could not have done this without her.
