Owner, Cavi Ornong, took a minute to speak with us about his business, online presence, and advice to other business owners. Check out what he had to say:
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
We’re genuine. It’s all about your energy and what you bring to the table. When you treat every client like family, the love comes back to you. We work hard to be genuinely nice and give the client the best possible experience. Taking the time to connect is key.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
If I were in this situation, I’d say one thing: “Sir, I know you’re used to getting haircuts, but come and get an experience at Cavi Cuts. Give me the opportunity to change your life.” We live by the code of look good, smell good, feel good, do good. What we give our clients is so much more than just a haircut.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
We do a lot of social networking, especially on Facebook and Instagram. We also host a lot of community events. In November, we have community appreciation day, where we give out 160 free haircuts and supply free food to more than 300 people. Among other community outreach initiatives, we help homeless families reintegrate into home life and give their kids free haircuts for back to school.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Ask for reviews! If people won’t take the time to leave a review, you need to reevaluate the time you’re spending and the care you’re giving your clients. Provide a loving and welcoming atmosphere, instead of a business one, and they’ll know you care about them. At that point, they’ll be happy to leave a review.
