We asked Eric to give us some insight into how he deals with customer service and how he turns that into an online reputation that helps his business.  Here’s his expert advice.

What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?

Providing good, fair service. If you give a customer respect they will repay it in kind.

What makes you different? In other words, if you had 1 minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?

A lot of garage door companies will try to sell a quota and try to sell a high quantity. Our main selling point is that things get done quickly and done right.

Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?

Working at other companies and seeing the way they operated I noticed that they were just trying to place numbers. I’m trying to make sure the job gets done correctly and treat clients fairly.

Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?

Printed ads, word of mouth, Google, Bing, things like that.

What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?

Don’t be greedy!

Key Takeaways

Doors-2-Fix Garage Door Service is clearly a customer-centric business.  They understand that a business relationship is built, first and foremost, on providing value to the customer.  Of course he operates his business to make a profit, but he moves beyond the type of business that is “just trying to place numbers” and builds his business on the foundation of doing the work right and treating clients fairly.

That results in respect.  He respects his customers, and they respect him.  Reputation management could just as easily be called respect management, as this business proves.

Eric Perez gets it.  When it comes to building a strong online reputation, greed doesn’t pay.
