We wanted to learn more about this two-time award winner and how they managed to build such an impressive online reputation, so we took a few minutes to talk with Rae Duncan herself, the CEO of Rae Duncan Interior Design.
The first thing we wanted to know was what makes Rae Duncan Interior Design a one-of-a-kind interior design firm in Illinois. Here’s what Rae had to say:
“A lot of what makes us different is that I don’t have one style that I do or that my team does. We always say that we take the client’s taste, and then we raise the design to another level. A lot of designers will do the same aesthetic over and over and over. While we may do similar aesthetics again and again, we do a lot of different stuff. We do crazy innovation rooms, nail salons, fancy man caves and transitional homes. We can do anything. We never reuse the same items. What we want is for people to have a space that is original and unique, and that is functional for them that makes them feel good. I think that raises their whole experience in their home.”
We also asked Rae what their mission is at Rae Duncan Interior Design and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s her response:
“Our statement is, ‘We’re a team of designers who use our imagination and technical skills to improve the way that people live, work and play.’ We work where we live. We play where we work.
Rae also went on to tell us a little bit about the Rae Duncan Interior Design logo, which is a microscopic picture of human tissue:
“interior design is really about biology, and it’s really about how we live. It’s about me figuring out how we can enhance people’s lives aesthetically and beautifully, or it might be enhancing people’s lives because of function and convenience.
