We were excited to learn all about Secrète Fine Jewelry and how they have gotten where they are today, so we sat down with Mari. She told us that this local business is over 30 years old and that quality is always at the foundation of the work they do. She said that this small business really cares about their customers, and gets to know them on a personal level. She said that they become a part of these couples’ love stories and that they become true friends with them.
We wanted to know was what it is that makes Secrète Fine Jewelry stand apart from its competitors. Mari told us about their unique, completely hand-made work, saying:
“We actually make all of our jewelry by hand, in-house, the old fashioned way. The competition offers customization options, but they are prefabricated, mix and match options. We make fine, hand made, fully customized, and one of a kind pieces.”
She continued:
“We do not believe in a cookie-cutter world! It is all about perspective, point of view, and quality!”

Building Success And Collaborating With Other Artists
In addition to building the kind of online reputation that any small business would envy, Secrète Fine Jewelry has spread the word about who they are and what they do by supporting local artists and musicians. Mari said:
“We support all the local arts, including musicians and artists, and are a part of a larger artistic collaborative to keep the movement alive as a whole. We did a collaboration with John Brendan Guinan, a famous artist, whose work has been auctioned off side by side with Jeff Koon, where we made a ring that he designed in exchange for one of his paintings. The painting is now displayed in our store for our clients to admire. It was a punk rock DC flag ring. We have worked on the barter system with other artists, too.”
