We were excited to learn all about how Burton’s Plumbing & Heating has been able to build such an impressive reputation, so we sat down with the Co-Owner (with his brother, Tom), Curt Burton.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Burton’s Plumbing & Heating stand apart from their competitors. The slogan, ‘We treat your home as if it’s your own,’ is very important to this business. They work hard to leave every space better than the way they found it. Curt shared:
“The main thing is to service the home before it causes damage. If there’s already damage, put it back to new! We want to save people from moving because the house is old.”
Curt also told us about their excellent employee retention. He said:
“Our employees have a vested interest in the company. As Tom and I transition into retirement, we want to be able to say that our staff will continue on! We don’t want the quality to change, so we want them to stay on.”
Building Success By Knowing their Audience
With as impressive a reputation as Burton’s Plumbing & Heating has managed to build, we were surprised to hear that one of the main ways they have gotten their name out there was through the yellow pages. Curt told us that people may laugh, but he understands his audience, and many of the people who are in need of a plumber still use the yellow pages. He told us that they have also begun to ask for reviews, which was a result of the feedback they had received when they updated their website.
