Lindsey Holmgren, the owner/operator of BrightStar Care, generously gave us a few minutes of her time to tell us a little more about her award-winning business and the incredible online reputation they’ve built.

The first question we had for Lindsey was what sets BrightStar Care apart from the many other home health care providers in Kansas. Here’s her response:

“We are a really strong franchise that does a great job of bringing on owners with the same vision. We are licensed by the state of Kansas and accredited by the Joint Commission, so our staff goes through a more rigorous hiring process… We have a full-time nursing director on staff who is a registered nurse.”

We also wanted to know what their mission is at BrightStar Care and how they work to make the world a better place. Here’s what Lindsey had to say:

“[Our mission is to] keep everyone at home as long as possible. We are able to remove all those borders from someone having to leave our care. We work with a lot of hospice agencies. Depending on the client’s condition and the family’s wants and needs, we are often brought in to help provide that level of care so they can spend quality time with their loved one. [We make the world a better place] by providing peace of mind to families. A lot of adult children are working or live in a different state. [We aim to] be a light for some of the older people; often, we are the only people they see that day or week.”

Building Success by Asking for Reviews

Lindsey credits BrightStar Care’s strong online reputation to their commitment to asking their clients for reviews:

“We realized in the latter half of 2018 that everyone was going digital and that everyone is online. People are looking, so we need to make an effort. I get calls and emails all the time about how great we are doing, but we needed to convert those into reviews online. So, we ask clients to put that [feedback] online to help other people make better decisions when they are looking for in-home care.”

“It starts with being able to have clients with nice things to say. You have to do a good job and do what you say you will, so they can organically have something nice to say. Then, ask them to relate those reviews online when they are happy.”
