Not Your Average Pet Groomer
We wanted to know what makes New York’s number one pet groomer so special, so we took a few minutes to talk with Jaime Baleno, who is an owner and groomer of Pet Style along with her husband, Jim, who helps out whenever he can.
The first question we had for Jaime was what makes Pet Style unique compared to their competition in New York. Jaime pointed to the fact that they provide quality grooming services at a great price and use good products. Her shop is different because you pay one price for the entire service; there’s no nickel-and-diming. People love the way their dogs are treated. If a dog is having a hard time with the grooming process or starts to get anxious, they will send the dog home and try again down the road. They don’t force dogs into uncomfortable situations.
Jaime went on to tell us that Pet Style is a full-service grooming company that offers haircuts, nail trims, teeth brushing and even color. They sell treats, work with cats and are willing to work seven days a week. They board dogs as well, and when they do, Jaime stays and sleeps at the shop to ensure safety and comfort. They offer full-blown photoshoots with props, backdrops, costumes, etc. They’ve even helped a client with a gender reveal!
We also asked Jaime about Pet Style’s mission and how they work to make the world a better place. Jaime told us about the many ways they’ve given back to their community, including giving discounts to police officers, firemen, first responders, veterans and college students, and donating to local charities during the holidays.
