What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
We always make a it a point to take care of every customer from that initial call or request all the way until their project has been completed, and beyond. Good business breeds good business — that’s always been our stance at Major Woodcraft.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
We focus on quality and pay close attention to every detail on all projects, no matter how big or small. To us, customer service and professionalism are key to growing a company.
Our aim is to ensure that every single project is the perfect fit for the buyer, and we look for unique and customer-specific solutions to any design challenges we may be facing.
Why do you do what you do? In other words, what is your mission and/or how do you attempt to make the world a better place?
I have a passion for building things! I enjoy solving practical, measurable problems and leaving a tangible creation. Wherever I go, I enjoy adding beauty, function and security to people’s homes and property.
Outside of building a strong online reputation, what else do you do to market and grow your business?
Word of mouth is an enduring marketing strategy. People share their experiences and insights with family, friends, colleagues and even strangers when the situation calls for it. That’s just human nature. We’re quick to share negative customer experiences, but often omit good experiences because we just expect certain standards of service or quality. I strive to provide service so excellent that people want to talk about it!

What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Every job matters. That’s all it comes down to. The volume mentality is dangerous sometimes, because it takes the individual customer for granted. Treat every job like it’s your masterpiece. Take the time to connect with customers and establish yourself as an experience, not just as a service.
There are many different companies that build fences, but we strive for excellence in customer service, communication and flexibility — not just craftsmanship. Find your niche and be the best you can be — one job at a time. Your reputation will grow accordingly.
