We had a chance to speak with owner, Tim Swan, about his business’ online reputation and success. This is what he wanted us to know:
What is your secret to such a strong online reputation?
We believe we understand our customers and know what they like about our business (and don’t like about others). If we are the masters of our profession, we will win, because we’ll know our customers love doing business with us.
What makes you different? In other words, if you had one minute to sell somebody on why they should choose you, what would you say?
We’re a family-owned business, started in a garage by my wife Julie and I. We now have two locations, more than 50 team members, and thousands of happy and comfortable clients. We keep our focus completely on residential service, and we take great pride in providing a world-class customer experience. When we leave a client’s home, our goal is for them to be so happy that they can’t stop telling their friends. We have learned over the years that we can’t have a great business without happy clients, and it’s much easier to make clients happy when you employ great people. I am so proud and so lucky to be surrounded by a team of industry-leading overachievers. The success of our business is a result of hardworking people that love the career they chose. When doing business with Swan, the client cannot lose! We have the best people, warranties, guarantees, and products, and our leadership is relentless in the pursuit of carrying out the swan promise. Why do you do what you do?
I love what I do! It is so rewarding to improve people’s comfort, help them when their system isn’t working, and improve the efficiency of their home comfort system. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
What advice do you have for other businesses trying to build a strong online reputation and grow their business?
Take great care of your customers and employees. We are living in a different world than we did 10 years ago. One bad review can cost you thousands of dollars in future revenue.
