We were excited to learn all about how Washington Lawns has been able to build such an impressive reputation, so we sat down with the owner, Zak Venturo.
The first thing we wanted to know was what it is that makes Washington Lawns stand apart from their competitors. We learned that they are focused on education and even have an educator on staff. They embrace teaching their clients about environmental facts and system management, which they believe is important for the plants.
After hearing about their focus on education, we wanted to know more about the company’s mission, which we learned was multi-faceted. Zak told us about their focus on both customer service as well as being environmentally conscious. Zak said:
“My mission is great customer service, to always be there for my clients and understand their needs. My entire team is on the same page with this. The company’s mission is to be eco-friendly, from our approach to the products we use.”
Building Success Through Consistency
Washington Lawns has managed to create an impressive reputation, so we were excited to learn about some of the ways they have marketed themselves. Zak told us about the efforts they have put into creating an excellent website. They make sure to fill that site and their social media pages with valuable content, and use them to reach out to their community. They have also recently added a tool to their site that allows people to self-schedule appointments. Offline, Washington Lawns has been involved with community magazines, both in advertising and content.

“Be truthful, and be consistent. Hire the best people. Don’t snap low-quality pictures on your phone to use on your website; hire a photographer. You’ll get better quality work and help them build a portfolio. You will have to do what works, so you’ll be doing the same things as everyone else, but make an effort to stand out from the crowd.”
